Next Theme: Love Letters

The theme for the next 2 to 4 weeks (depending on responses) will be “Love letters to us based on lyrics from songs we love.” Since that’s too much for a tag, the short version will be #LLL2us (lyric love letters to us). This also (always) depends on whether we get submissions. No matter what, we’ll fit it all in.

Why “love letters to us”? Well, I’ve been struggling with sadness, grief, world events, personal loss. Perhaps you have as well. Lyrics are powerful because we not only say the words, we sing them. It’s almost as though the music allows the words to get deeper into where they are needed. Our souls. Our hearts. That’s the way it is for me, and maybe for you too.

For the next 2 to 4 weeks, I want to feature your favorite lyrics. I can post the entire song but for the Gem I’ll only be able to use 1-3 lines.

Songs

Maybe thinking about writing yourself a letter feels off-putting — too new age-y or wishy-washy. If it’s hard to think of what you might say to yourself, try thinking about a good friend who is hurting, or who needs encouragement. What song(s) would you choose?

This is different from what we’ve done in the past ten years. But, if you have enjoyed our posts during any of those years, I sincerely hope you’ll help me with this.
