“We’re in the valley still and the walking is no trouble but for the sharing of Bill’s load so that Mr. Frodo can ride him. This extra burden don’t come near the weight of worry our hearts carry. Mr. Frodo is so ill and his eyes are getting pale and lifeless. I fear for him something awful. The land is starting to rise now and we can see some hills huddling together up ahead. (Later). Camped for the night. Strider says we’ve walked another 19 miles today. ”
