“We climbed so much today I thought I’d pass out by the time Strider called camp.  I don’t think we went forward at all.  Strider said we’re closer to Rivendell by five or six miles, but all I see are hills.  Sure I’m tired, and my feet ache.  Merry and Pippin are feeling the same, no mistake.  But none of us care a lick about that when we see the terrible pain Mr. Frodo is going through.  He would change places with any of us, so none of us even mention our discomfort.”
