On October 24, 2023, I graduated from the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG). My individual action plan addresses connecting generations around food inclusivity and specifically growing your own food and preparing it for others in various forms of ongoing community, some of which include housing. But that is the big picture.
One of the leaders of the Forum over the course of the seven weeks we were together stated, “Make your plan meaningful for you, and make it doable in the Community.” That is the very embodiment of Community in action.”
“None of us knows as much as all of us.”
So, I will first start with Towers in the schools and helping to nurture our future leaders to gain skills around food and Community Connection.
But the back story is I had to address my alcoholism and co-occurring mental wellness
decisions in which I was self-destructing in all facets of my life. To do so I had to seek the help and understanding of many persons and entities and go all in myself.
I will post and highlight many of these entities in the months going forward, but for now, please enjoy the poem I closed with: “Recipe for Lasting Change.”
