I only ever saw my mother cry twice in my life. The first time was when her best friend died of cancer, aged 35. The second time was when we got the news of Martin Luther King’s assassination. He was a truly good man; a man of peace x
Oh wow *hugs* Jane thank you for sharing that story. As a little kid, our mothers’ emotions really have a big impact on us. It was a terrible dark day when Dr. King died. I was too young to understand what was going on, but I’m so grateful for my teacher, Mrs. Baker. She taught us a beautiful song and I sing it every year. I still don’t know if she wrote it. ♥.

Yes. I tried it several ways last year. I re-posted the blog this year on Niki Flow about Mrs. Baker, with the song. (How funny – WordPress thinks I’m talking about fencing and suggests “re-posted” should be “riposte”). O.o
