On Simbi I describe myself as “a talent scout for under1000skies.org (focusing on the talents whenever possible of homeless creatives)…” I think that that description fits what I do best. Today I asked my husband, “So if you are a talent scout, does that mean people come to you or you go to people? I knew the answer.

He confirmed that it is me going to you.  So that’s what I will do.  It’s hard for me to do this, but then I realized when I am going to you and asking for contributions of creative work, that I am saying, “You are a light-filled Gem and I want everyone in my world to see you.”

This is probably something I need to learn to do better, but in the meantime, in case it takes me a while to work up my nerve to ask, please know that if I follow your blog and/or comment on it, I will probably at some time be saying this to you.  If, in the meantime, you would like to talk to me about this, please do! I had the privilege this weekend of sitting in my first creative circle.  Turns out I have so much to learn about this.  The facilitator took us through guided meditation, then everyone had five minutes to speak. What I didn’t understand about the circle process (because even though I bought the book, I never read it) is that this is a time for everyone to hold space for you to explore what your soul needs from you at this moment regarding creativity or the problem at hand or whatever the reason is for the circle.

Since 2010 I’ve been part of a group of friends that initially met once a week, and now once a month. We follow the 18-week challenge in the book Transformation book by Bill Phillips (sometimes); mostly it’s a time to catch up and pour love on each other.  And when new people come, it’s a time to get to know them.

When I meet people, I immediately feel like I’ve found a treasure. I feel this when I meet almost everyone.  I focus on that person, I want to know all about them and I want to remember!  So in this circle yesterday, I began taking notes.  That’s what I did for all my meetings right?

Wrong.  This is about holding space only.  We don’t comment on what the other has said. We don’t keep records.  It’s just about us looking inside and sharing in a group what Spirit or our own souls are saying.  This is a beautiful thing.  I hope to get better at it.

In the meantime, I get to focus on you and find out all about you from how you show up in the world on your blogs and in your creativity.  This is the best part of us, our creative core! You are a light-filled Gem, and in the months and years to come, I hope to connect with you individually and feature one or more of your creative works here on under1000skies.org.

I hope we have a beautiful week.  And my friend Mish says that if we say, “It will be a beautiful week,” it’s much more likely to happen that way.  So it will be. It will be.  =)
