Today we’ll feature a new poem by John, celebrating 23 months of recovery. For the next few days, we’ll feature poetry by John, all of which are in memory of his dear friend Shannon.

Offered but Not Accepted

When you express your Love with complete generosity,
Do you have the right to expect reciprocity?
Probably not.
There is NO good relationship that requires CONTROL.
Because without two people sharing fully, you just won’t be whole.
To me, the simplicity is in your integrity.
If you won’t bare your soul, express your hope, and tell the Truth,
With both expectation and vulnerability, it’s over before it started.
Plant the seed, make it green,
Mean what you say and say what you mean.
