We’re really grateful for a new creative connection today. Today’s beautiful photo is by Cord X. Cord, “originally from Wisconsin, sometimes poet,” is a homeless creative living in San Antonio, Texas. This is his first photography submission but we sincerely hope it will not be his last.
Special thanks to Cord X. for today’s photo and to “cyctw” for today’s quote. The suggested theme for July is “freedom,” but if you have a favorite quote about any other uplifting subject, please let us know. We’re always accepting favorite quotes.

There are people in my life who are brave on a daily basis. These people remind me that I can be brave — that I always have been.
Under1000skies resumed daily posts today and will continue hopefully until I’m long gone. This is my golden bowl, and this work is vital.
The pain, every day upon waking; the knowledge that, after 402 days, my son Benjamin Archer is still missing; — these will not be undone by hiding, numbing, or distracting. After all, “Life is about using the whole box of crayons.” Even the storm colors.

The Gem today (“3.1.”) begins our third year, and is the first we’ve published. Happy New Year from all of us!
