“The love that gushes for all is the real elixir of life, the fountain of bodily longevity. It is the lack of this that always produces the feeling of age.”

-Josiah Gilbert Holland

It’s been a bit tricky to feel love for all these days.  But, it’s worth a try I think.  I think it works best if we can say, “Well I sure don’t love that guy but I’m willing to be willing to be willing to be willing to think about maybe loving him — in theory — someday.”  I think it’s that willingness that takes our hearts to places where our brains refuse to go.

I hope we have a great weekend, filled with love.

“We respect and love all religions. We never put down anyone’s religion, or uphold one religion to the exclusion of others. What we want is to believe and respect interfaith religion, inclusive of all faith traditions. In our community spiritual practices, we invoke our prayers to the Divine, rather than invoking any particular name or form of God to the exclusion of others.”

“I have nothing,” she told her mentor, a priest. “What will I do?”

“You have love in your heart,” he told her.

“But with just love, what will I do?”

Here’s what she did.

“Maher means ‘Mother’s Home’ in Marathi. And she created the warmth of a mother’s home for the destitute, homeless, children as well as women. That seed has become a big tree today and all of us can partake of its shade but behind it lies such small stories of deep transformation.”  -Sachi Maniar from Sister Lucy the Mother Teresa of Pune

“Maher is a shining ray of hope for transforming our troubled world. This book tells its story, and the stories of some of the women and children whose lives have been transformed there.”  from Women Healing Woman:  A Model of Hope for Oppressed Women Everywhere by William Keepin, Ph.D. and Cynthia Brix, M.
