I hope you’re having a beautiful day. ♡
Today we’re celebrating another JohnnyO Gratitude Day!

John Olander in “Elevating Denver: Park Hill Library”
Minute 3:02
John: “I think our discussion that we’re having now is to the point, is ‘Why am I writing? What am I writing?’ I’ve heard from many people that I have a lot of stories to tell about the privilege of growing up here in Park Hill. The fact that the Memoir Class was here at Park Hill Library really prompted me to add it to my schedule, and I’m delighted I did.”
(reading) “‘Embracing, enhancing unique qualities all contributing to a very unique experience, not just aspired to and hoped for but lived.’
“Many people say that you need act as though you’re always writing for yourself, and in my case, I’m in active recovery as an alcoholic. It’s been a big part of my therapy, self-sought, and I just feel that it’s a good way to stay well and turn over a new page and a new chapter of my life.
(talking) “I can recite it right off the top of my head. It goes, ‘Forget about the past ’cause it won’t last. It’s already gone. It left fast. If you don’t embrace the moment at hand, you’ll end up in Nowhereland. So do your best each day to love yourself and put your history books on the shelf.’ So that’s the first thing I ever wrote.”
