Our first Newsletter, 1.1

The first newsletter (1.1) was published on June 15, 2019. By 1.4, I added the first video. On December 31, 2019, I published a year of Gems. By January 11, 2020, I started themes. The first theme was “Solace.”

Between Newsletter Video 2.22 (July 4, 2020) and 2.24 (July 18, 2020) I skipped a number (2.23). Since I did a series of J.R.R. Tolkien quotes during our Annual Kindspring Eowyn Challenge, I will be creating a video with the JRR theme and label it 2.23.

There are two one-day themes (Friday and May the Fourth).

Gems will begin again on Monday. The theme for the next two weeks will be “Intuition.” Then, beginning on September 20 until October 8, the theme will be “Journey.” This is to honor the Fourth Annual 21-Day KindSpring Eowyn Challenge (beginning September 23, 2021). It will once again follow the journey of Frodo, Sam, Pippin and Merry from The Shire to Rivendell. The Journal of Samwise Gamgee (“illustrated” by his daughter Elanor) for all 28 days of that journey is here (Bag End to Rivendell).

In December 2021, the journey will begin again with a new challenge, Rivendell to Rauros Falls. This will include new pages from Sam’s Journal and new illustrations by Elanor. If you would like to join these journeys, please let me know. You are also welcome to use Samwise’s Journal (my fanfic) for your own Eowyn Challenge group. A link back isn’t necessary but I would appreciate a citing.

In the days to come, I’ll be adding theme pages to under1000skies like Peace which will include every Gem for that theme. This will be the bones for the online version of the book The Power of Color and Opposites. This is one of the ways I went from being a crazed, fear-tossed maniac after Ben disappeared especially to a person who can (most of the time) welcome one beautiful day at a time and can allow the grief or fear or despair to come and then let it pass. Quotes helped me immeasurably and I hope they will help you too.

In reverse order, these are all the Newsletters and (beginning with 1.4) Videos for under1000skies.org.. I will be making a subject list soon. In the meantime, if you want to find a specific subject to look for quotes, just use control-F on this page. And if you have an idea for a theme we haven’t covered yet, please let me know. I’d love to hear from you.

I will see you on Monday!

♥. Niki Flow
