Me and Bobby McGee by Kris Kristofferson | Photo “SciFi Sky” by Niki Flow
ME AND BOBBY MCGEEBusted flat in Baton Rouge, waitin’ for a train
And I’s feelin’ near as faded as my jeans
Bobby thumbed a diesel down, just before it rained
It rode us all the way to New OrleansI pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandanna
I was playin’ soft while Bobby sang the blues, yeah
Windshield wipers slappin’ time, I was holdin’ Bobby’s hand in mine
We sang every song that driver knewFreedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose
Nothin’, don’t mean nothin’ hon’ if it ain’t free, no no
And, feelin’ good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
You know, feelin’ good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGheeFrom the Kentucky coal mine to the California sun
There Bobby shared the secrets of my soul
Through all kinds of weather, through everything we done
Yeah, Bobby baby kept me from the coldOne day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away
He’s lookin’ for that home, and I hope he finds it
But, I’d trade all of my tomorrows, for a single yesterday
To be holdin’ Bobby’s body next to mineFreedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose
Nothin’, that’s all that Bobby left me, yeah
But, feelin’ good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
Hey, feelin’ good was good enough for me, mm-hmmGood enough for me and my Bobby McGheeLa da da

Check it out! I just found the coolest botany site. I uploaded ^ this photo and they identified my plant. How awesome is that? So now I’m going to do like I promised and share their site all over because I have been bugging everyone about this plant! 😀
So this is the site:
https://gobotany.newenglandwild.org/plantshare/questions/all/2017/#q1342
And this is what they said:
Answer
Dear jazztizz, your plant looks like a species of Ampelopsis (peppervine). In our part of the world, Amur peppervine (Ampelopsis glandulosa) is the most common species with lobed leaves. Best wishes.
Special thanks to Ann C. for today’s quote. The theme for June is “silence,” “listening,” “stillness,” and “sacred space.” If you have a favorite quote about any or all of those, please let us know!

I found three of the quotes in this series about love and fear among seven others on this site: 10 Quotes about Love and Fear.
Quote 1 is by Marianne Williamson, a woman who has inspired me and millions of others over the years. If you don’t know who she is, she’s got a nifty site and a newsletter you can sign up for here: Marianne.com
Quote 2 is by Oprah Winfrey, another inspiring and amazing woman. Her site is Oprah.com — it’s a bit hard to load on slower computers because it contains a lot of footage from her TV show, but well worth the wait. My favorite video series is “Super Soul Sunday.”
The third quote is from the New Testament book “1 John.” I wanted to credit the exact author of that letter, but I learned today reading after this interesting article that the authorship of 1 John has never been determined. Experts aren’t even sure that the author of the letters 2 John and 3 John (known as “The Elder”) is the same author as the first. Since the Bible is one of my favorite books of study, I found this fascinating.
The last quote is actually two quotes by C.S. Lewis, author of Chronicles of Narnia, The Screwtape Letters, Letters to Malcolm, The Problem of Pain and many others. His romance with American Joy Davidman became the basis of beautiful book by Brian Selby which became an equally beautiful movie starring Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger, Shadowlands. Since i didn’t find a quote by Lewis that contained both words in this month’s theme (“love” and “fear”) I combined one of each. One of my favorite quotes by C.S. Lewis is something he said to Joy one day in Shadowlands, not long after he discovered she was sick:
“Pain is the price we will pay – then – for the love we have — now. That’s’ the deal.”
We make this deal every time we love.
