Update:

As promised, Gems has restarted on November 1st. We’ll be going back to M-F every week from now on. The series “Bag End to Rivendell” (The Lord of the Rings, JRR Tolkien) Gem #’s 33-54 will be updated on Under 1000 Skies as soon as I have appropriate photos. I appreciate all the photos donated for Gems, and I used as many as I could that suited the hobbit journey. We’ll do this series again next year and by then we should be able to fill in those photos and as well as other walks through Middle Earth with appropriate photos without having to worry about copyright infringement.

Oct. 9 – Day 17 (3rd from Weathertop): 19 miles

We’re camped now. Today we followed a wide shallow curving valley. Finally out of those brambles. Mr. Frodo is hanging on but he looks poorly. His eyes are all funny and he doesn’t recognize anyone. It’s like he’s somewhere else.
