“Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.”
-W.B. Yeats

It’s been just a bit over a year since I shared Yeats’ The Stolen Child, (Gems 4.70) but this mythical creatures week wouldn’t be the same without it.  It was that same day that I created the page, Missing BenjaminI spent some time today to update it. I believe it’s important to keep a log of this journey. Eventually, the chronology will be caught up.

This has been a journey through some very dark places. I’ve learned not to run but to face my dragons.  Some of their names are Fear, Illness, Injury, and Despair, and they are quite formidable.  So am I.  My sword’s name is Hope; my shield is Faith; and, my armor is Love.  My path is illuminated by my pack. They hold aloft lights every day by sharing creativity and kindness,  compassion and comfort, and they shine so brightly.  The deeper the darkness, the clearer the path, so long as I look up for my lights.   And you, the dear person reading this, are no doubt one of those lights for me.  Thank you.

It has been really hard some days, but I have never been alone.  In every single moment, there have been reasons to be grateful.
