“Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.”

It’s been just a bit over a year since I shared Yeats’ The Stolen Child, (Gems 4.70) but this mythical creatures week wouldn’t be the same without it. It was that same day that I created the page, Missing Benjamin. Continue reading

It’s Les Misérables week on under1000skies. I recently found the entire book for free online, an unabridged version from 1916.* I did this painting (copied from the famous stage poster) in PSP9 a few years ago.
*Can’t find that link but I did find another from 1887, same translator (Isabel Hapgood), produced on Gutenberg Press. GP does great work.

Meanwhile, this post from yesterday on Niki Flow goes out today to you, my under1000skies readers. If you follow both you’ve already read it.
I hope you’re having a beautiful day. Thank you, with all my heart.

My new Gravatar icon was inspired by Wayne Dyer (“Love, Period”) and Malukah’s beautiful song Reignite.
“I will never surrender / We’ll free the Earth and sky / Crush my heart into embers / And I will reignite / I will reignite…”
Thank you, dear reader. Thank you, for all your prayers and good thoughts for my son Benjamin and for our family since the day he disappeared (2 Mar 2016).

Starting on February 28th, every week on Tuesday, there will be a special Gem here on under1000skies under a category called “Tuesday, Full of Grace.” Ben and I were both born on a Tuesday. I feel the grace of love intertwined always with the sadness. I feel the grace of support and compassion from friends. I feel the grace of peace, whenever I reach out, from the source of all Love. So this weekly “Full of Grace” Gem will be a list of the SAoKs (small acts of kindness) the week before. I’ll include a photo for each whenever possible.
The three-year anniversary of Benjamin’s disappearance was on March 2nd. I believe this 365-day challenge will help me stay focused on light, love, and gratitude. It will help me stay connected to others rather than isolating and slipping into grief. It will also get the word out to more people about Ben’s story. On the back of every card will be the words, “Picture him home again, safe at last.” When he was a little boy, Ben’s favorite book, which he asked me to read, again and again, was The Spooky Old Tree with the Bernstein Bears. I loved those story times together. The last line in the book was one he would always say with me as we finished:
“Home again, safe at last.”

Today is my missing adult son Ben‘s 35th birthday. As mentioned in 5.20, you’re invited to join me in kicking off a year of SAoKs (Small Acts of Kindness) called Buttons for Benjamin. The challenge starts today and runs for three weeks. The link is here. It’s hosted on KindSpring.org. If you join, you receive one email a day and zero spam.
Every Tuesday beginning February 28th, I’ll post a special Gem called “Full of Grace” with a photo and a blurb about each of the SAoks the week before. If the small act is a face-to-face meeting with someone new, I’ll hand out a button to get the word out about Ben.
Even if you don’t join, please send good thoughts and picture him home again, safe at last.
♡ Thank you. ♡

On January 8, 2016, we featured the photo above, “Gems 2.4.” It was taken by my son Ben in Taos, NM the summer before. We featured several of Ben’s photos that week. That day, January 8th, Ben wrote a a comment:

I spent the past two weeks at my mom’s house helping her after surgery. I began experiencing symptoms of my own that probably were exacerbated by all the extra activity. By the end of two weeks, the pain was pretty bad and couldn’t be ignored. I found a great new PCP, got a bunch of tests done Thursday and Friday. I’m finally getting things addressed after literally years of being unable to get out and about. So grateful for my recent and miraculous transformation, and so thankful to for medical science! I’ll need some time away to heal and recover, so I won’t be posting for a while. I hope to catch up on my reading though, so you may see me visiting your blogs. If you have any good vibes to spare, please send them my way, and my mom’s and, always, our to our Benjamin. Thanks so much. ♥.
